Open or running now
- Hypnexis 2026, Manipal University Jaipur. A 36-hour AI hackathon with a ₹10 lakh prize pool. Registration closes 15 October, the online aptitude challenge is 16 October, and the offline hackathon and finale are on 24 and 25 October. It charges a per-team fee. - Hacktoberfest 2026. Runs through October. Free, with no pull requests counted this year, and rewards come from stickers earned through livestreams, DEV Challenges and Fests. See Brabble's Hacktoberfest post.
- OpenCV AI Competition 2026, powered by AWS. Registration is on Devpost. The official page lists the build phase as 26 August to 26 October, final judging from 27 October to 9 November and winners on 10 November. Every submission must use OpenCV 5 for substantive image or video analysis and include a meaningful AWS component. Devpost lists $20,250 in prizes, while the launch announcement headlined $12,000, so check the prize details on the official page.
- IEEEXtreme 20.0. The official site says it takes place on 31 October 2026. It is a 24-hour programming competition for teams of IEEE Student Members, advised and proctored by an IEEE member. One listing gave 22 October, which conflicts with the official page.

Coding contests
- TCS CodeVita Season 14. The official portal shows a Register now button. Eligibility covers students in science or engineering who expect to finish in 2027 to 2030, rounds last 3 hours and only C, C++, Java and Python are allowed. The page shows no registration deadline or round dates. See Brabble's CodeVita post.
Government and campus tracks
- Smart India Hackathon 2026. Online evaluation of nominated teams runs October to November, and the 36-hour grand finale is planned for December at nodal centres. Exact dates were not confirmed. Entry is through your institution's SPOC.
Annual events whose 2026 dates are not confirmed
- DSCI-EY cybersecurity hackathon. DSCI's pages show it was held in December in 2022 and 2023, and on 4 December in 2024, in Delhi, with registration closing about a week before the event. No 2026 page was found.
- SAP Hackfest. PSG iTech's report on its fourth edition, held on 7 August 2025 with SAP Labs India, counted 26,490 students from 104 colleges. No 2026 dates were found.
Not included
A public GitHub tracker lists other company hackathons for this period, including Cognizant, Capgemini, IBM and EY events. None could be matched to an organiser page with 2026 dates, so they are left out rather than guessed.
How to use this list
Check the eligibility line first: some events are for IEEE members only, some are institution-nominated and some charge a fee. Then check the deadline in your own time zone. Devpost shows deadlines in US time, which can fall a day later in India. This list will be updated as new events are confirmed.
