What it is
TCS CodeVita is Tata Consultancy Services' annual coding competition, open to science and engineering students worldwide but dominated by Indian participation. Each round is an open-book, timed sitting with several programming problems that can be attempted in any order - it rewards raw problem-solving speed and breadth rather than memorised syntax, since you can look things up. A recent season drew over 146,000 participants and set a Guinness World Record for the largest coding contest globally.
Rounds
01. Pre-Qualifier
An open-book, 6-hour online round with 6 programming problems attemptable in any order - the first cut from the full registrant pool.
02. Qualifier
A second open-book, 6-hour online round, same format, for those who clear the Pre-Qualifier.
03. Grand Finale
Conducted offline at a TCS venue in India for the top qualifiers - the only in-person stage in the whole contest.

What you actually get
Top performers win a cash prize (recent editions: up to USD 20,000 for the overall winner) and an internship opportunity with TCS Research and Innovation.
